Offen to head MPG network

Offen: will lead three MPG initiatives

Bob Offen, chief executive of MPG in the UK, is to become the Havas network's head of global operations.

Although Offen will retain his UK role, he has been charged with the development of a team within MPG that will work on purely global accounts.

Offen will lead three separate initiatives across the global MPG network.

Global Client Management will develop and coordinate pitches for international clients, define client commercial strategy and lead local teams working on global accounts.

Catalyst, the strategic planning resource developed by MPG in the UK, will drive media strategy, participate in global pitches and develop and implement the Catalyst process globally.

MarComs will identify and act upon new business opportunities, define product development and identify evolving global client requirements.

It is understood neither Marc Mendoza's position as UK managing director or Dominic Stead's as deputy managing director will change as a result of Offen's promotion.

MPG global chief executive officer Fernando Rodes said: "Bob and his global operations team will help us to develop an even stronger global position.

"The team will provide an integrated process where we can better leverage our local strengths.

"Global Operations will lead the entire MPG network in developing more global products and services, delivering even higher services to our clients."

Last November, Havas dissolved its main marketing services division, Diversified Agencies Group, as a standalone unit and announced it would be incorporated into Euro RSCG and Arnold Worldwide Partners - the group's two creative agencies - and its media arm MPG.

MPG has 22 offices in 21 countries and global clients including Intel, Air France and Peugeot.
