- Ogilvy Interactive has created a rich media banner ad campaign for IBM, the first launched in France, to promote the company's sponsorship of the French Open tennis tournament.
The use of rich media technology allows surfers to interact with banner ads in far greater depth and can incorporate better graphics and animation than traditional banner ads.
One of the IBM ads allows surfers to play virtual tennis, returning serves on a virtual clay court, with graphics and sound. A second banner ad allows visitors to enter their email addresses into the banner and receive daily news from the tournament.
Previous rich media campaigns created for IBM by Ogilvy Interactive in New York have won numerous awards. One picked up the 1999 Grand Clio, which was the first time the award was given to an internet entry.
