A spoof interactive TV ad offering the perfect baby at the touch of

a button has won the grand prix at the inaugural Visions

competition.



Run by Channel 5, The Media Trust and the British Television Advertising

Craft Awards, the competition involved TV, advertising and film

professionals who produced a 60-second social issues film for free.



A total of 24 films, shortlisted from 400 entries, fall into five

categories covering ’Age’, ’The Environment’, ’Community’, ’Respecting

Difference’ and ’Visions of the Future’. Each will be broadcast on

Channel 5 over the next 12 months.



The winning film, the ’Perfect baby’ was written by the Ogilvy & Mather

copywriter, Dave Williams, and directed by Martin Wedderburn through the

production company, Mustard. It was produced by Jeremy McWilliams and

Stefan Esaias.



David Elstein, the chief executive of Channel 5, said: ’The competition

has proved a tremendous stimulus to creativity among people who rarely

have an opportunity to apply their skills to serious issues on broadcast

television. The winning entries give viewers a chance to see new talent

tackling new ideas, and Channel 5 will strengthen its reputation for

innovative contributions to television.’
