Ogilvy nets £300m global DHL account

Ogilvy Advertising has won the battle for the global £300 million DHL account.

The five-month pitch culminated in a final two-way shoot-out between the WPP-owned agency and M&C Saatchi.

The win consolidates all of DHL's global business, which had previously been split between a number of agencies around the world, including some parts of the Ogilvy network. It is understood that the centralised business will now be run out of Ogilvy Advertising in London.

Media planning and buying will stay with Mediaedge:cia.

DHL kicked off the pitch in July. Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam and 180 Amsterdam were eliminated from the competition at the end of August.

A spokesman for DHL confirmed the win.
