The 'Hunt for a Hen' travelling bar is a fully-functioning bar visiting four secret locations in the UK. The activity has been running throughout March and will continue through to the Easter weekend. Locations so far have included The Nutshell in Bury St Edmunds, the smallest pub in the UK, and the Bullring in Birmingham.
Clues to the bar's location are revealed on social media. Real ale fans who find the bar will be rewarded with a free half pint of Old Speckled Hen in exchange for a social media post using the dedicated #huntforahen hashtag.
Destination clues throughout the campaign period will be shared by the brand’s biggest fan, Old Speckled Henry, on Twitter and the Old Speckled Hen Facebook page. An on-pack promotion will also run in conjunction with the campaign.
Chris Houlton, managing director for Greene King Brewing & Brands, said: "The Hunt for a Hen initiative is a fantastic piece of theatre and a chance for us to really engage beer lovers during a key seasonal time for premium ale. Old Speckled Hen has a great reputation for quirky initiatives and by running an experiential campaign we hope to reward our loyal fans, as well as find new ones."
Old Speckled hen is working with Popcorn PR to deliver the activation.
