OMD beats Unity to pick up Innocent Drinks business

LONDON - OMD UK has won the media communications account for the fruit drinks manufacturer Innocent Drinks, estimated to be worth £1m a year.

OMD landed the Innocent account following a head-to-head battle against Unity. Three other undisclosed agencies were knocked out in an earlier round.

Innocent was founded in 1998 by three friends who bought some fruit, turned it into smoothies and sold the product from a stall at a music festival. Since then the business has grown and Innocent has distribution in Sainsbury's, Waitrose, Tesco, Safeway and Somerfield.

"Innocent is a fantastic company, both in terms of its product, its attitude and its brand. Communication has to live up to this and we can't wait to embark on some exciting projects with them," Jessica Roberts, business director at OMD, said.
