- Omnicom has bought-up UK sales promotion agency Claydon Heeley in a agreement understood to be worth between £15 million and £20 million.

The deal sees Claydon Heeley join the marketing service giant's Diversified Agency Group with the intention being to grow the UK below-the-line operation into an international network.

For instant growth, Claydon Heeley is likely to be merged with another member of Omnicom's Diversified Agency Group, the UK sales promotion outfit, the Anvil Consultancy.

The deal, however, will not impact on Claydon Heeley's relationship with M&C Saatchi. It will remain a member of M&C's Village, the loose collective of communications companies that M&C works with as preferred suppliers.

In addition M&C founder Bill Muirhead will remain in place as a non executive director on the Claydon Heeley board.

Omnicom has said that Claydon Heeley will work alongside and pitch with other Diversified Agency Group members. Among these are direct marketing agency, WWAV Rapp Collins
