straight-laced for Williams , who decided to spice up his life.



’By day I worked in broking, but by night I ran a club called the Love

Train,’ he recalls with nostalgia. Not that it was a disreputable

club.



In fact, Williams started the 70s revival club as an alternative to

tacky Cantonese pop fare. It proved a rip-roaring success because:

’There were so many ex-pats who were desperate for somewhere decent to

go - and we put on such raving night.’
