’During a gap year in Australia I was homeless and desperate for work.

Luckily I spied an ad that seemed perfect. It offered sales commission

and a roof over my head. I applied and got the job, only to find I was

to be a door-to-door encyclopaedia salesman and had to live in a

caravan.

’The trailer park was full of white trash - I shared with a nutter who

was trying to crack on to the woman who ran the trailer park. She

spurned his advances and I remember coming home and seeing him

headbutting the barbed wire that surrounded the stalag. All very Jerry

Springer.

’Someone even stole a pair of boxer shorts I’d left out to dry.’
