Agencies get very defensive when they are accused of having overtly
macho cultures or encouraging laddishness in the creative
department.
’Men can do ads for women’s products,’ they exclaim. ’Don’t be so
patronising.’ Perhaps. All we know is the execrable new Smirnoff
commercial in which the devil takes a nun’s cherry could never have been
written by women.
Time for the creative department to grow up.
