Optimedia and EBP pick up multi-million UK Plus prize goes to

Associated New Media has appointed Optimedia and Elliott Borra Perlmutter to the multi-million-pound task of handling the advertising for UK Plus, its family-oriented search engine.

Perlmutter to the multi-million-pound task of handling the advertising

for UK Plus, its family-oriented search engine.



The appointment follows Associated’s decision to split the advertising

task for UK Plus and charlottestreet.com.



EBP originally pitched for both projects alongside BMP, Team Saatchi and

Fielding Gibson - UK Plus’s original design agency - and was appointed

to the account last week. Optimedia pitched against Equinox and BMP

OMD.



The charlottestreet. com business will be handled by BMP DDB and BMP

OMD.



Advertising for the UK Plus portal is expected to start before the end

of the year.



Media is expected to include TV, cinema and selected print such as

Associated’s newspaper titles, the Daily Mail and the Evening

Standard.



Julian Borra, the creative director of EBP, said: ’Our aim is to convey

the fact that users can relax and enjoy UK Plus without worrying that

the children will find the rude words.



’Although we developed a lot of creative work for the pitch, the media

plan is being finalised. There will be a few surprises.’
