Opus sales is building its GWR client development sales team with a

raft appointments and promotions.

As part of a drive to improve operations, Opus has created a specific

division to maximise existing relationships with clients and develop

business in new areas.

The team will work across all GWR stations, including Classic FM, LNR

and the new digital channels. The new operation is headed by Kerry

Wilkinson, formerly GWR’s agency group head.

She is joined by three client sales executives who have been appointed

from outside the organisation.

In addition, Ginny Herring, previously sales executive with GWR, will

move across to join the team.

Wilkinson confirmed that she is still looking for client sales

executives, but stressed that candidates must be ’heavyweight,

media-literate professionals who can look after all aspects of

radio’.

Anita Mills is leaving the National Magazine Company and joins GWR to

build the client base in the areas of fashion, beauty and cars.

Peter Moniak comes from Sunday Business where he was head of business

travel. In his new role, Moniak will build client contacts in IT,

telecoms, internet and travel.

The final client sales executive, Lisa Hallinan, arrives from Zenith

where she was associate planning director.

A spokesperson for GWR explained: ’We really want to invest in the

client sales side of Opus as, essentially, Classic FM has more clients

than people in agencies.’

The team has already instigated a series of client presentation days

using Initiative Media’s clients, Peugeot and Unilever.
