Orange to offer internet TV service

Orange has announced details of the long awaited rebrand of internet service provider Wanadoo, including plans for a broadband TV service next year.

A set-top “Livebox” will enable Orange customers to watch digital TV channels and on-demand programming.

France Telecom, the owner of Orange, also today launched a free internet broadband service, which includes free calls from fixed-line phones to Orange mobiles.

The Orange and Wanadoo websites have now merged and from tomorrow will be known as orange.co.uk, offering search, news, entertainment, email and details on the mobile network business.

The new site will also offer a photo album where customers can create their own collection from compatible phone handsets.

Further developments include Orange Link, a service that allows phone calls from your PC with voice and video telephony and instant messaging to connect with PCs, fixed line phones, mobile and video phones.
