Leagas Delaney has hired the former WCRS board account director
Will Orr to be its new marketing director.
Orr, who ran WCRS's flagship Orange account and left the agency to do an
MBA, has been hired to pursue new business more aggressively and to
manage the Leagas Delaney brand more effectively. This year the agency
has won the pan-European Opodo account and Pilsner Urquel, but it has
lost business from Barclays, Nintendo, Bendicks and Porsche.
The chief executive, Tim Delaney, said it was important for Leagas
Delaney to promote itself further: "The agency has changed a lot, from a
UK-only agency with a strong creative reputation to a group with a
unique, creatively led international offer. We want this new reality to
Orr will be the third marketing director Leagas Delaney has had in just
over a year.
The former marketing director, Lucy Meredith, left last summer for HHCL
& Partners. She was replaced by Kim Pattie, who had been the marketing
director at Harrods, one of Leagas Delaney's clients. She left earlier
this year, and the agency has been looking for a replacement.
