Pacific wins Pink Ribbon publishing and sales contract

Pacific Contract Publishing has won the right to produce and sell

advertising for Pink Ribbon, the magazine published in aid of breast

cancer research.

The one-off magazine, priced pounds 2.95, will go on sale in September

to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

It will remain on sale for two months and it is hoped all 100,000 copies

will be sold, raising pounds 100,000 for the Pink Ribbon Foundation.

Pink Ribbon is a departure for Pacific, which normally produces

programmes for events such as Henley, Ascot, film premieres and

balls.

However, managing director Peter Vadahty claimed selling the magazine

would be similar to selling programmes and many of the advertisers would

be common to both.

The 244-page glossy will have a 40 per cent ad ratio and the sales

efforts are being led by ad manager Lisa Allen.

Advertisers booked so far include Bhs, Chanel, Apple, MG, Toyota, Daewoo

and Burberry.

The title is being edited by Felicity Hawkins, the former deputy editor

of the Sunday Mirror and You.

Last year’s magazine featured interviews with Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le

Bon and Helena Christensen.
