Paul Kitcatt, Brann’s European creative director, has quit with no

job to go to after ten years with the agency.

Kitcatt was in discussions with Brann about taking on the new role of

worldwide creative director, but declined as the post was based in

Chicago.

A candidate for that role is now being sought.

Until recently, Kitcatt was the managing director of Brann’s London

agency, which he set up two years ago with the aim of making it the

flagship of the network’s European operations. Since the agency opened

its doors, Brann London has put on pounds 12 million in billings, with

new clients including Sainsbury’s, The Guardian and the Labour Party.

Recently, the agency was merged with its sister shop, Brann SJA.

Before taking on the London role, Kitcatt was Brann’s executive creative

director. The creative directorship of the London agency will remain

under Dan Plotkin and Lizzie Chrystall.

’When London set up, I really wanted to make it the best agency in town

and be a true competitor,’ Kitcatt said. ’It was a great feeling when we

started beating our rivals but once success goes past a certain point

and things start settling down, it can become humdrum.’
