Given the length of his tenure, Hope is pretty much synonymous with Vauxhall, having ridden the brand’s highs and lows for a quarter of the century. Over the past 12 months, he has led the development of the brand’s ‘Stand together’ TV ad featuring members of the England football squad in the build-up to the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. However, the tournament did not end well either for England or, by extension, the brand, which had hoped to capitalise on its association with the players.
