Phillipson starts up regional shop with better service claim

A former marketing director is forming a new agency based in the north to deliver what he claims will be a quality service to clients that regional shops are not equipped to provide.

Mike Phillipson, the one-time marketing chief of Time Computers and the ex-head of brand communications at First Direct, said his initiative was a result of his own disappointing experiences with agencies outside London.

The new operation brings together Phillipson's fledgling agency, set up a month ago, with the Leeds agency Ward Longworth & Camponi, which handles the TV creative account for DFS, the UK's seventh-largest advertiser.
