PIC - Konrad promoted to senior role at Mediaedge:cia Germany

LONDON - WPP Group-owned Mediaedge:cia Germany has named Birgit Konrad as the new chief executive, taking over from Thilo Kramer.

She joins from MediaCom, which is also owned by WPP, and will take up her new role on June 1. At MediaCom, she was managing director of the Dusseldorf office. She has 16 years experience in media communications.

Her predecessor, Kramer, is moving to become the new managing director of MEC's Global Solutions division in Paris. The division manages global and regional relationships with the agency's clients.

He takes up the role immediately, replacing Blandine Pillot, who is leaving after 15 years to take up a role at MEC's global client Chanel.

Melanie Varley, chief executive officer for Mediaedge:cia EMEA, said: "International clients are a critical part of our business and we are continuing to invest in senior global client leadership to support this."
