Glasgow rounded off a year of big events last Sunday (14 December) as its arena venue, The SSE Hydro, hosted BBC Sports Personality of the Year (SPOTY).

The BBC's awards ceremony celebrated the achievements of sportspeople from around the UK. Last year’s event was held at the First Direct Arena in Leeds and 2012’s at Excel London.

Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton was awarded the top prize after votes were cast by the public throughout the programme, which was broadcast live on BBC One.

Golfer Rory McIlroy came in second while runner Jo Pavey claimed third. Gymnast Claudia Fragapane was named BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year, and Prince Harry presented the Helen Rollason Award for outstanding achievement in the face of adversity to all the Invictus Games competitors.

Prince Harry also presented the lifetime achievement award to cyclist Sir Chris Hoy. The awards show was hosted by sports broadcasters Gary Linker, Clare Balding and Gabby Logan.

BBC Sport partnered with AR Events to offer corporate hospitality packages on the night. These included a private table for up to ten, a three-course dinner and premium seating.
