As the clock reached approximately 7.30pm guests moved from the champagne reception into the main hall, where host Steve Jones greeted them.
A bespoke menu by caterer Zafferano was served, comprising a sweet cured Scottish salmon dish with accompanying autumn vegetables and mustard fromage blanc for entrée, and Daube and loin of beef with wild mushroom pithivier, potato mousseline and textures of onion for main.
The dessert creation, coined The Dark Side of the Spoon, generated particular interest among attendees by virtue of its standout design - it was even rumoured to have started trending on Twitter.
Upon completion of the meal, four performers from Sternberg Clarke took to the stage dressed in fluorescent costumes. The group delivered an electrifying dance performance, lighting up as they moved around the stage.
The performance set the tone for the hotly anticipated awards ceremony, where the best of the event industry was celebrated. Winners as well as those recognised as highly commended across a total of 24 categories were announced on the night. The list of award recipients can be viewed here.
Each of the winners were invited up on stage to collect their gong – a rectangular shaped award complete with Event's signature branding and name of the category engraved on its side.
