The exhibition was officially opened by Aardman designers Gavin Strange and Ashley Boddy, and it includes a total of 16 Gromit sculpture designs.

The pair were on hand following the ceremony to speak with guests about their designs, which have been named GRMT02 and Year of the Gromit.

This is the first time that the sculptures have been available to view in the UK. They were originally created as part of The Greatest Dog Show On Earth showcase exhibition in Hong Kong, which was launched in July 2014.

The exhibition is located at The Grand Appeal’s store at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway in Bristol, and will remain open for 10 weeks, closing on 10 April.

Gromit Unleashed is free to enter and a £2 donation is encouraged, with all proceeds going to The Grand Appeal.

The inaugural Gromit Unleashed trail in 2013 included 80 Gromit scupltures, and raised £2.3m for the Bristol Children’s Hospital.
