Named the Old El Paso Mexican Cantina, the store sells a range of central American food such as fajitas and nachos with the brand’s ingredients. The eatery served more than 100 customers on its first day, and all ten members of staff have been recruited from the local area.
A representative from Old El Paso told Event there are currently no immediate plans to host special events at the new branded venue.
Rachael Clutton, brand manager at Old El Paso, said: "The reason Old El Paso decided to open the restaurant is the fact that Mexican food is a growing trend and its out-of-home business has many successful franchises in theme parks, universities and also a festival truck.
"Opening its first high street restaurant is the natural next step for Old El Paso, as they continue to educate on Mexican inspired cuisine."
