In pictures: Parkour group scales London buildings in latest TransferWise stunt

TransferWise enlisted parkour group Storm Freerun to surprise Londoners during their commute last night (13 April).

Designed to encourage people to break free of bank charges incurred when transferring money overseas, the stunt saw the group climb buildings and street furniture from London Bridge to Westminster.

Members of the group then made their way to Westminster Bridge, at which point a group of TransferWise customers unveiled a large banner that read: ‘take charge, not charges’.

The activity supports the brand’s Stop Hidden Fees campaign, which calls for greater transparency in foreign exchange pricing.

The petition has received over 30,000 signatures so far, and consumers are invited to pledge their support online.

Agency House of Experience was behind the stunt.

Taavet Hinrikus, co-founder and CEO of TransferWise said: "It’s deeply unfair for banks to advertise foreign exchange as free or low-cost to consumers when in fact they just hide a fee in the mark-up they add to the exchange rate.

"Customers just want to know what they’re getting - surely that’s not too much to ask? That’s why we are asking the Government to deliver on its pledge to stop misleading pricing in foreign exchange."

TransferWise has executed a number of stunts that call for greater transparency among banks, in Paris and Barcelona, as well as others in London.
