In pictures: PlayStation activates at UEFA Champions Festival

PlayStation partnered with Nissan and gaming brand Konami to activate at this year's UEFA Champions Festival, which took place in Berlin last week (4-7 June).

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) enlisted agency Amplify to produce the experience, which formed one part of PlayStation’s sponsorship rights package with UEFA.

Approximately 20,000 guests could compete in Foosball and Pro Evolution Soccer tournaments to be in with a chance of winning a pair of tickets to the Champions League Final in the German capital. In addition, visitors could win one of two places to the Nissan GT Race Camp in Abu Dhabi.

Konami used the festival as the showpiece event in its annual Virtual UEFA Champions League tournament, crowning a champion on Saturday live from the PlayStation Experience.

The four-day festival also gave the brand’s PS Plus members the chance to experiences Project Morpheus, PlayStation’s new virtual reality offering.

Rebecca Knight, SCEE European Events manager, said: "Amplify once again responded to the challenging brief of creating an engaging consumer-facing experience at the UEFA Champions Festival. The festival is integral to the UEFA Champions League Final – not only because it allows fans to engage with our brand in a fun and interactive way – but also because it represents a key part of our long-standing partnership with UEFA.

"The results have been fantastic and we look forward to continuing our relationship with Amplify in future."
