Pret on Broadwick Street was wrapped in red paper reminiscent of the company’s Christmas branding. Fans of the brand were invited to tear through the paper to launch the range of sandwiches.
Consumers who participated in the stunt were rewarded with a free festive lunchtime snack.
The sandwich range launches nationwide at 12pm today (10 November). In a bid to turn the release into an event, Pret’s website currently features a countdown clock and a link that allows consumers to add a lunchtime reminder into their online Outlook, Apple, Google or Yahoo calanders.
More than 625,000 Christmas Lunch and Veggie Christmas Lunch sandwiches were purchased last year. For the 2015 season, the Pret Foundation will be donating 50p from every sandwich sold to charities supporting the homeless.
