Pitch update: Axa, Experian, TGI Fridays

Ongoing pitches

Axa is due to contact agencies about the next stages for its UK comms and marketing reviews. The insurance company had delayed all of its decisions until the end of November. The process is going through Oystercatchers and began in the summer.

Ikea's CRM and digital account pitch is due to take place this week, having gone through chemistry and tissue meetings. Lida, the incumbent, is pitching against DigitasLBI, MRM Meteorite and Proximity. There is due to be a second round of pitches in the middle of December. 

Experian is close to appointing an agency after calling a review of its creative and media businesses earlier this year. Bartle Bogle Hegarty and PHD were the respective creative and media incumbent agencies. Oystercatchers had been managing the pitch process.

New-business rankings: creative accounts


TGI Fridays is reviewing its advertising and digital accounts in the UK. There is no incumbent and it is not clear whether the restaurant chain is looking for a single agency across an integrated account or separate agencies for above-the-line and digital. Agencies have been asked by the brand to complete a request-for-information document this week.

CHI & Partners has won a place on the Procter & Gamble roster after picking up the pan-European Lenor advertising account from Grey London.

Starbucks has appointed Iris as creative agency across Europe, Middle East & Africa after a competitive pitch. It is a new account and does not affect the brand's global ad agency, 72andSunny. Creativebrief handled the pitch process.

Domino's Pizza has expanded its relationship with VCCP after awarding the agency its lead digital account for the UK and Ireland. The pizza delivery brand called the review in September after splitting with Iris, which had picked up the CRM and digital remit for KFC. Hamilton Associates handled the review.

Uber has picked 72andSunny as its global ad agency following a review in the US. The appointment is unlikely to directly affect Bartle Bogle Hegarty London as the taxi-hailing app's UK agency.

WPP’s Group M has emerged as the first winner in Deutsche Telekom's pan-European media review as it has been awarded campaign planning and media buying in 11 of the company's 13 markets. Group M was already the incumbent in many of those territories. It is thought that Mindshare will replace MediaCom in the telecom firm’s biggest market, Germany. However, Group M's overall role will be more limited than previously because Deutsche Telekom plans to appoint different suppliers for the other lots such as programmatic operations, which includes buying on Google and Facebook.

MBA has been appointed by US personal care giant Church & Dwight to promote its hair growth supplement brand Viviscal direct to customers in the UK and Europe. It is a new account and Creativebrief handled the pitch process.

The United Nations Women National Committee UK has appointed J Walter Thompson London as its lead UK agency for the upcoming "16 days of activism" campaign.

London Advertising has been appointed to rebrand Muscat Insurance Company SAOG, the commercial and personal insurance products provider in Oman. There is no incumbent and the creative agency won the business after a competitive pitch.

Sports marketing agency Brandwave has been appointed as global lead agency for the forthcoming launch of Bullitt Group’s Land Rover phone. The tech company will bring the device under a global brand licence from Land Rover. 

Digital marketing agency The Tree has been appointed to create digital campaigns for Nelsons, the manufacturer of natural healthcare products. There is no incumbent.
