Pitch update: TK Maxx, Suntory Beverage & Food and The Black Farmer

TK Maxx, the high-street retailer, has selected six agencies to go through to chemistry meetings for its pan-European creative account.

72andSunny, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Grey London, Leo Burnett London, Ogilvy & Mather and Wieden & Kennedy are all in with a shout. Meetings will take place next week and three agencies will be chosen to pitch in September. The process is being run by Oystercatchers. The incumbent, The Brooklyn Brothers, is not repitching.

Pitches for Suntory Beverage & Food’s €100 million (£71.7 million) media business took place last week. Havas Media, MediaCom, Vizeum and ZenithOptimedia were shortlisted. A decision is expected in one month’s time.

In another good week for the independent agency, the7stars picked up the offline media planning and buying account for Ancestry.co.uk after a competitive pitch involving the incumbent, Initiative, as well as PHD and Vizeum. Ancestry.co.uk offers members access to searchable UK family history records. The move marks another painful loss for Initiative, which is still reeling from its failure to retain Tesco in May.

It is understood that results are imminent in both The Black Farmer’s creative review and the Royal London media pitch. AAR is helping with both processes.
