Pitch Update

There's a pattern forming in the new-business sphere that involves brands, which, despite calling a review, seem quite happy to continue with the creative and strategy that they already have in place.

Take Santander, for instance. The banking group indicated at an agency briefing that it wants to keep the strategy, the music and even the red bricks that feature in its recent campaign by WCRS.

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO has pulled out, leaving WCRS to pitch against Grey and Leo Burnett. Negotiations will take place onand offline. Santander's procurement arm, Aquanima, is hoping to appoint an agency by the end of the month.

Similarly, the Post Office has told agencies competing for its ad business that it is happy with the strategy developed by the incumbent, Mother. The shortlisted agencies are Mother, Draft FCB, Leo Burnett, MCBD and Fallon.

The £32 million Dreams ad review is progressing, with the three shortlisted agencies having held meetings with the retailer this week. Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, Publicis London and the incumbent, Robson Brown, are all vying for the business. Final pitches due at the end this month.
