Pitch Update

The shortlist for Expedia, which is reviewing its £50 million pan-European advertising account, has been revealed, and it looks likely to be a battle of the big guns.

Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, DLKW Lowe, Ogilvy & Mather and Saatchi & Saatchi are all on the list, with an appointment expected this side of Christmas.

With Swinton, Nationwide and Confused.com among those that have recently put their ad accounts up for pitch, agencies desperate for a financial services client aren't short of options. And this week's confirmation that Halifax is to review has stirred things up even further. It is understood to have already opened talks with a select number of agencies, and is expected to be in a position to announce a shortlist within the next week.

Rolls-Royce has conducted pitches for its below-the-line brief and is finalising the process with a decision expected at the end of the month.

The enduring Army recruitment pitch is nearing conclusion, with final presentations scheduled for the end of the month when Capita Group, working with WPP, and the Prospector Group, siding with Omnicom, will battle it out.
