Pitch Update

The £12 million UK Burger King pitch is close to a conclusion with CHI & Partners, Hypernaked, Mother, Saatchi & Saatchi and The Red Brick Road waiting on a result. Despite rumours spreading around Cannes last week that a decision had been made, sources suggest that some of the work has gone into research before the client makes its selection.

Agencies pitching for the Freeview ad account are waiting for a decision after completing presentations on Tuesday and Wednesday, in a process handled through the AAR. Leo Burnett, TRBR and Wieden & Kennedy are expecting to find out by the end of the week who has won the business. The incumbent, 18 Feet & Rising, did not pitch.

Majestic Wines is expected to draw up a pitchlist for its creative account by early next week following chemistry meetings this week, in a process also handled by the AAR. Chemistry meetings with media agencies will then follow. ZenithOptimedia, the incumbent on the buying account, is understood not to be repitching for the media business. UM London, MediaCom, Vizeum, MPG Media Contacts and the7stars are all thought to have been invited to attend.

The review process for Onken, the yoghurt brand owned by the Swiss dairy company Emmi, is coming along nicely. Six agencies conducted chemistry meetings with the brand this week, and pitches are due to take place later in the month. Onken hopes that the process, which again is being handled by the AAR, will help the company find an agency that can create a campaign on a similar scale to Bartle Bogle Hegarty's "rapping farmers" ad, which the rival dairy brand Yeo Valley launched last year.
