Pitch update

Oh dear! The Monster pitch has suddenly turned a little, well, monstrous. Agencies that have managed to survive no fewer than three rounds of pitching have now been given the less-than-glad tidings that Monster wants to take the review global. Word has it that some of the already pitching shops will compete, but news that the global move is on the back of a desire to slash costs is ominous.

BP digital: the pitch is advancing - in secret. There's a shortlist, four agencies, but we don't know which ones.

The big boys are trying to move in on the £350 million-plus global Dell account. WPP, Havas, Publicis Groupe and IPG are each said to be gathering cross-discipline pitch teams in the hope that Dell can be persuaded to consolidate into one holding company. Unattached Mother New York and Carat are still in the running, however.

Heinz's potential agencies, Lowe, Grey, Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, Bartle Bogle Hegarty and DDB, are getting ready to pitch. 24-25 August are the dates set aside for the action.

COI is persisting with its creative and media agency pairing system. St Luke's and Experience, AMV and PHD, WCRS and Carat are competing for the £2 million NHS Direct account.

It appears that Tequila, Publicis Dialog, Proximity and iris have all trumped the rest of direct marketing-land to make the Shell shortlist.
