Pitch update

Coca-Cola's £35 million media pitch is moving forward. The soft drinks giant has begun putting meetings in diaries, kicking off from next week. Agencies that haven't been contacted yet should go to the pub for a consolation pint. There's also some speculation that a review of Coke's creative roster might follow. Watch this space.

Expect some news about Heinz's hotly contested pitch over the next few days. The company is seeing agency pitches this week (Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Grey, Lowe and DDB) and is hoping to make a snap decision at the end of the week.

Pitches are also underway for Oxfam's creative account - and it's a very fine list indeed: AMV, Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R and BBH.

Meanwhile, Whitbread's Premier Inn has lined up M&C Saatchi, Inferno, Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy and RKCR/Y&R to compete for its £9 million relaunch assignment.

Agencies are beginning to jostle for position to get the top spot in their respective new-business leagues by the end of the year. CHI & Partners' Barratt Homes coup (will they bring back the man in the helicopter?) has shunted the agency from fifth to second place in the advertising league.

Lastly, Freeview has seen its pitches and has decided to put the ideas into research. Boring!
