Pitch update

It's a big 'un. Premier Foods has finally confirmed it will pitch out its £26 million business.

There are a lot of juicy brands at stake, from Hovis to Typhoo to Loyd Grossman's pasta sauces. The pitch is still at request-for-information stage, with an official shortlist expected in the week commencing 8 October.

The new agency roster is scheduled to be in place by the middle of November, so it looks like the food company is expecting its pitching agencies to act pretty damn fast.

Mustoes, VCCP, Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy and Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners are expecting to discover whether or not they've got an airline on their roster by the beginning of next week, when Aer Lingus is due to make its pitch decision.

Sony PlayStation is said to be reviewing its US creative account, held by TBWA (well, according to the blogosphere anyway). There's no sign of a European pitch, however.

Norwich Union is revealing a shortlist for its direct marketing pitch at the end of this week, whittling down its current very longlist of 21 to just three shops. Then, next week, the insurance brand will kick off chemistry meetings.

ING has drawn up a shortlist for its international Formula One account. VCCP, which handles the ING Direct account, will go up against Iris, Inferno, glue, R/GA and LBi.
