Pitch Update

ITV has kicked-started proceedings, shortlisting Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Beattie McGuinness Bungay, DDB London, Mother and a Dare/Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy combined force.

MCBD is in a good position as Dare is already an ITV roster shop. The pitch will be efficient, with creative presentations being bypassed in favour of a power-packed creds and chemistry meeting. The meetings began yesterday (Wednesday).

No such luck over at John Lewis. Budgets and the Christmas retail onslaught have conspired to postpone its search for a digital agency until 2008.

Adland's pitch teams are making clandestine visits to London hotels. The reason? LG is in town. Contenders for the South Korean global electronics account are understood to include BBH, DDB London, TBWA\London and Saatchi & Saatchi. It's a biggie.

Could the AA be seeking new friends? Rumour has it that a review for the £25 million business is imminent with the incumbents, Delaney Lund Knox Warren & Partners and Rapier, both under threat after the company's merger with Saga.

Could the ongoing saga of Liverpool Victoria be reaching its conclusion? TBWA\London is out, which leaves McCann Erickson and Mother to scrap for it.

Meanwhile, the flood of gambling briefs continues. Expect a result on Unibet shortly; Sky Bingo has delayed its pitch until November; while the European Lottery company Tipp24 is after a digital agency for a UK launch next year.
