Pitch update

The Waitrose pitch plot thickens. Isobel recently found its way on to the shortlist; now Beattie McGuinness Bungay has crashed the party.

That's six. Rumour has it that Jonathan Durden is rivalling Take That in the comeback stakes by fronting Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy's pitch campaign.

Speaking of MCBD, Premier Foods has put the agency on its roster. Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R is out and the company is still in talks with the incumbent, McCann Erickson, and WCRS about a second place. The incumbent is taking this fight seriously. A bloody great loaf of bread was spotted in its shop window recently, reading: "Hovis & McCann Erickson: Best of Both." Is it 1985 all over again?

Keep an eye on ice-cream. Unilever is at the last stage of pitches for Wall's, with McCann, Lowe London and DDB fighting for the global brief. A decision is due before Christmas.

TBWA's ship has sailed out of the Royal Caribbean Cruises pitch. That leaves DraftFCB, JWT and Saatchi & Saatchi.

Finally, the AAR is understood to be giving Visit Wales a helping hand with its pitch process. It's also scored managing the Telegraph pitch. Both decisions should be announced in the new year.

LG has left Bartle Bogle Hegarty and DDB on tenterhooks as it churns through the final pitch performances last week. The electronics company has promised to reach a decision by December.
