Pitch update

How times have changed. For some years now, whenever there's been a Tory Party pitch of any description, agencies have taken pride in saying: "Thanks, but no thanks."

But this isn't an industry renowned for the strength of its principles, so it follows that now David Cameron and his crew are in the ascendant, DM agencies are falling over themselves to be included on the Tory shortlist. The AAR is overseeing proceedings.

Mother, Publicis and Euro RSCG are suffering collective sleepless nights having all pitched for the global Stella account this week. Some say that the timing of chief executive Esther Lee's departure from Euro RSCG's US headquarters last week was a blow, as the US is a key market. A result is expected at the end of next week.

Phones4U has invited Mother, Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe/Y&R, The Brooklyn Brothers and the incumbent, WCRS, to pitch for its £7 million account.

And finally ... WCRS is said to have pulled out of P&O's creative pitch. Step forward TBWA\London, understood to have taken its place in the contest against The Red Brick Road, Adam & Eve and the incumbent, Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy. The media pitch, meanwhile, is between Starcom, Rocket and a Vizeum/Carat combined effort.
