Pitch update

After being promised a result on The Sun pitch last week, Fallon, The Red Brick Road and WCRS have been called in again for final half-hour presentations this Friday (21 November).

Rumour has it that the marketing team are rooting for Fallon, while James Murdoch and Rebekah Wade are swaying in WCRS's favour, though others suggest The Red Brick Road, which was always considered an outsider, is still in with a chance.

The agencies have been told to expect a phone call on Friday afternoon. Who gets it is anyone's guess.

After the shock announcement that John Lewis has called a pitch this week, a number of shops have already been approached for credentials meetings, due to take place by the end of this month. Those who get to the final pitch should wave goodbye to their turkey and figgie pudding, because the pitch is scheduled to take place over Christmas.

The direct marketing pitch for Toyota has been suspended indefinitely after the car manufacturer stated it was "re-planning its business" due to the economic climate, so SFW and Elvis can down tools on that brief for a while.

And it seems that delaying pitches is a running trend, with MTV also postponing its media pitch. The contenders, BJK&E, Vizeum and the incumbent, Equinox, will now have to wait until the third week in January to compete.
