Harris has shaken up GoCompare’s marketing operations since joining from Daily Mirror owner Reach last autumn. She has appointed Droga5 London to handle creative and Hearts & Science to run media at the online price comparison business, which spends £88m a year on marketing. She chaired Campaign’s inaugural Performance Marketing 360 event in Brighton in May, where she said: "It feels like we’re at a tipping point where performance marketing comes of age." That’s because Harris is a wise marketer, who understands the importance of sophisticated brand-building, even as advertising and media become more measurable and accountable in a digital world. As the former Viacom, ITV and Hearst executive memorably said when she appointed Droga5: "Shouting the loudest is no longer enough."
