PPA hands InStyle prize for the year's top consumer title

IPC's InStyle scooped the Consumer Magazine of the Year prize at the annual Periodical Publishers Association Awards last night.

It beat seven titles, including Conde Nast's Glamour and Emap's Arena, at the ceremony, which was held at Grosvenor House.

Jane Johnson, the editor of Closer, Emap Entertainment's newest celebrity title, was named Consumer Magazine Editor of the Year.

Closer increased its circulation by 15 per cent in the last period, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulations.

Redwood's Home was the Customer Magazine of the Year while Building, published by CMP Information, triumphed in the business magazine category.

Conde Nast Traveller won Interactive Consumer Magazine of the Year while Neil Robinson, the publishing director of IPC's music titles, collected the Consumer Publisher of the Year prize for the weekly title NME.
