The 'Tea on the Green' concept has been designed to celebrate the retailer’s role as the official department store provider to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
Located in Royal Exchange Square, the teahouse has been furnished entirely from the John Lewis range. Two custom-built sculptures depicting a high-jumper and cyclist athletics have also been constructed from the brand’s products by designer Billie Achilleos.
Besides the tea offering, a selection of finger sandwiches will be on offer, as well as homemade scones, mini eclairs and macaroons.
Attendees will be able to enjoy live sport on a big screen while they drink cups of free tea. Visitors are encouraged to book online, however, a number of spaces will be kept available for walk-ins until the pop-up closes on 3 August.
Lindsay Ironside, John Lewis Glasgow’s operations manager, said: "We are hugely honoured to be a part of the Commonwealth Games and want to celebrate by bringing something really special to the people of Glasgow. Tea on the Green is a spot where people can enjoy great food, whilst never missing a beat of the Commonwealth action."
