Profero plots online drive for gay portal Rainbow Network

Profero, the interactive ad agency, has been appointed by gay and lesbian portal Rainbow Network to handle its marketing activity.

Profero will be launching a campaign to increase awareness of the portal

and drive site membership.



Jamie Estrin, marketing director at Profero, said the agency was in the

process of planning online media for the campaign, following recent

offline activity.



Emma Witowski, account manager, will head planning on the account,

assisted by account executive Rachel Yeomans. Nick Clarke will head

media buying.



The agency won the business without a pitch.



Estrin would not specify the strategy but said he had ’ambitious

plans’.



Alex Friesen, Rainbow Network’s commercial director, said: ’Profero is

committed to targeting the appropriate traffic for us rather than

concentrating solely on creative. They are lateral thinkers.’



Profero has recently executed online campaigns for Emap Metro and

Channel 5. Other clients include Claims Direct, Reed Recruitment,

SharePeople and Excite.



The Islington-based agency launched in 1998 to offer interactive media

planning, buying and creative work.



It was founded by two sets of brothers - Jamie and Daniel Estrin and

Wayne and Daryl Arnold. It employs 55 people.
