Propaganda hires new directors to strengthen UK roster

Propaganda BRW is aiming to bolster its presence in the UK with a

new roster of London-based directors.

The company split from Academy Commercials in June and opened its new

offices last month. It is run by its former executive producer, Jani

Guest, and the former head of television at HHCL & Partners, Richard

Packer, and is backed by Italy's largest production company, BRW

Films.

Three directors have been signed to Propaganda. They include the

directing collective known as Us, which comprises the ex-creatives Joe

Tanner and Mark Howard. The duo, who met while working at HHCL, have

been directing for the past year through Arden Sutherland-Dodd and have

produced work for SAS Airlines, The Observer and The Guardian.

Tanner, a former creative at Partners BDDH, and Howard, most recently

the head of art at St Luke's, will continue to run their own creative

consultancy, also called Us, which offers quick turnaround creative work

for a number of other agencies.

Pat Holden, who has been directing through Outsider for the past four

years, has also signed to Propaganda. His recent work includes ads for

Cadbury's and Royal Bank of Scotland.

The company will also represent the pop promotions director Dominic

Leung, who was previously a part of the directing collective Hammer &

Tongs. Leung, who is responsible for music videos for bands including

Travis and Moloko, signed to Propaganda to focus on directing

commercials.
