The group, whose operating companies include Saatchi & Saatchi, Leo Burnett and ZenithOptimedia, cited a firm world market and better growth in Europe, offsetting a slower performance in North America, as the main reasons for the figures. Maurice Levy, the Publicis chairman (pictured), said he was both confident and cautious about the rest of 2004, "given the risk of adjustment to spending at the close of the year".
Publicis Groupe confident - but cautious - about final quarter
Publicis Groupe this week added to the cautious optimism prevailing among the communications supergroups by reporting a third-quarter organic growth of almost 5 per cent, bringing revenues to £645 million. Its performance mirrors similar strong performances from Omnicom and WPP, which announced revenues of more than £1 billion each last week.
