Publicis hires investor director

Publicis, now the world's fifth largest communications group since last year's £1.24 billion acquisition of Saatchi & Saatchi, has appointed its first director of investor relations.

Publicis, now the world's fifth largest communications group since last year's £1.24 billion acquisition of Saatchi & Saatchi, has appointed its first director of investor relations.

Pierre Benaich, 42, the former director of financial communication at the food company Danone, will be responsible for the group's relations with financial analysts, investors and shareholders.

His appointment follows the group's dual listing on both the Paris and New York stock exchanges.

Maurice Levy, the Publicis president, said: "His experience and his competence, widely recognisd in the international financial community, will be important to us in responding to the increasing demand for information about our group."
