Publicis' prostate cancer ad scoops gold Aerial Award

An ad to raise awareness of prostate cancer, created by Ricky Gervais and the Publicis team Gary Turner and Jamie Marshall, was named best radio ad of the year at the tenth annual Aerial Awards.

Publicis' "check-up" spot for The Prostate Cancer Charity, which features Gervais and his sidekicks discussing a rectal examination, triumphed at the Aerials, run in association with Campaign.

Bartle Bogle Hegarty was named the radio agency of the year, after producing award-winning work for clients including ITV and Ginsters and increasing its radio spend in 2005 to £8 million.

Nationwide Building Society was named radio advertiser of the year, while St Luke's activity for Mothercare was awarded best campaign. Nick Angell of Angell Sound won the lifetime achievement award.
