Puttnam unveiled as new chairman of Profero

Lord Puttnam, the Labour peer and producer of Chariots of Fire, has been named as the new chairman of the digital agency Profero.

Puttnam began his career in advertising at the legendary agency CDP in 1962, where he worked with the likes of Charles Saatchi and Alan Parker, before becoming involved in the film industry. The role of chairman follows Puttnam's appointment as a consultant to TBWA\London in 2004, and as the deputy chairman of Channel 4 in 2006.

Puttnam's remit is to move Profero to the next stage of its development. He said: "During my keynote address at IAB Engage in 2005, I mentioned that, were I entering the advertising industry today, I would join a company like Profero. It's clear that someone must have been listening."

Profero's client list includes Mini, Disney and Johnson & Johnson.
