The Sweden-born Pybus has been at Proximity for eight years. She joined as a junior copywriter and was promoted through the agency to become the partner of the executive creative director, Duncan Gray, one of the founding partners of BHWG, which later became Proximity. In her most recent role, Pybus was one of three creative heads in charge of some of the agency's flagship clients such as Volkswagen and Sainsbury's.
She joins EHS Brann in April and will report to the executive creative directors, Lu Dixon and Trevor Chambers.
Dixon said: "Kate's an extraordinary talent with a real passion for creativity and writing in particular. In her new role, she'll be able to bring these skills to bear on some of our key clients."
Her appointment is the latest in a senior management overhaul at the agency. It follows Dixon's and Chambers' promotion to the board in September and the appointment of the managing director, Matt Atkinson, from Saatchi & Saatchi in January.
Atkinson said: "These hirings support our strategy to further develop, broaden and strengthen our talent in creative direct communications. It's part of our focus on re-establishing our skills in creative direct marketing."
The agency has also hired the art director Dean Jones and the copywriter Andy Green from Lida. In January, Simon Martin joined as a senior copywriter from Chemistry.
