If any brand can claim to represent "the first sign of Christmas", it is Coca-Cola.
People freely admit they don’t feel Christmassy until they see the brand’s truck ad. But Quality Street is bidding to steal some of Coke’s thunder, releasing a TV ad positioning its sweets as the product that heralds the onset of Christmas. The TV spot, created by J Walter Thompson London, shows thousands of sweet wrappers raining down on the inhabitants of an idyllic, snow-covered street, as the music from the Clog Dance from the ballet La Fille Mal Gardée plays. The spot was created by Andy Smith and Ryan Lawson, and directed by Joanna Bailey through Bare Films.
