The Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) has appointed Peter Cory as its first director of media planning.
Cory joins the RAB from Universal McCann, where he is the group director on its Coca-Cola account. He will help the RAB to work more closely with advertisers to make the use of radio more effective.
Cory worked closely on Universal's recent pitch for the Coca-Cola business before joining the RAB this week. He has been at Universal for seven years and previously spent two years at Carat.
Cory will assist the RAB in developing its planning approach as digital and other radio platforms emerge.
His appointment follows that of the former Blockbuster marketer Piers Skinner as the director of marketing at the RAB in September.
Cory said: 'I have an open brief but the key part is helping to move radio upstream in the thinking of media planners and clients.'
